Simplebase Downtime Is Alarming – Urgent Clarification and Data Access Needed

Hey Simplebase team, Could you please share a clear update on the current status of the product and why the platform has been down for so long? Right now, I’m unable to access or export my data, and your support emails are bouncing, which is extremely worrying. Even a temporary read‑only or export‑only mode would really help so I can at least retrieve my data. If this downtime is related to infrastructure costs, technical issues, or the LTD model not being sustainable, I completely understand and I’m willing to move to a paid monthly subscription to support you. What matters most to me right now is transparency and a way to get my data back. Please let me know: What exactly is causing the downtime? Is there any ETA for partial or full restoration? How can existing users safely export their data from the system? A public status update explaining what’s going on and what users should do next would be greatly appreciated.

Feature Request

Allow referencing existing articles in the editor

Allow users to search and add their existing article/category links directly in the editor. We are planning to introduce two new controls to the editor. One will be visible when the user selects a text The other will be visible in the Tools Dropdown, which is shown when the + icon is clicked

Feature Request

Password protect the knowledge base

For now we can only make it private using email (ok for teams and collaborations) but it would be nice to be able to password protect it for exemple for people who wants to give access to the page only to their clients

Feature Request

List Empty Search Results

Based on this specific use case: a user searches in your Help Center, and no search results are available. This could be quite useful for you, meaning they searched for something specific, but you don't have any content about it. This may help you to prioritize the upcoming content. Please let us know what you think about it.

Feature Request

Editor Moderation Tools (Team Collaboration)

We want to give teams more control over their content publish lifecycle and would love to hear your feedback. Some of the ideas we are considering are: Article Approvals: Editors should get an approval before they publish an article Article Reviews: Editors can ask for reviews from peers Article History: Browse previous versions of your article and revert to any of them Article Templates: Create templates for your articles to guide your editors Draft Versions for Published Articles: Imagine a use case where your team is working on feature improvement, and you proactively want to update related articles, but they can't be published until the feature is released. This feature will give you the ability to draft a new version and publish it later.

📢 Next Big Update

Greetings Everyone, We’re thrilled to give you a sneak peek into the significant updates we’ve been crafting for you. 🧠 AI Chatbot Our development efforts are currently focused on creating an AI chatbot trained with your knowledge base content, along with a wide array of external data sources like PDFs, Google Docs, Notion, and web pages. You’ll have complete control of these indexed documents, with options to add or remove sources as you see fit, as well as monitor the AI’s conversation history. Plus, we’re refining the AI-Agent handover process. Should the AI stumble, your users can effortlessly escalate the conversation to a help desk ticket for human assistance. 🎟️ Enters: Help Desk and Realtime Chat Prepare for the introduction of an advanced Help Desk paired with a realtime chat widget. This will transform user messages into tickets on your Dashboard, which you can tackle with immediacy, assign for team collaboration, or resolve directly. 🗨️ Embeddable Live Chat Widget With simple code integration, you’ll soon be able to embed a live chat widget directly into your product. This grants your users the choice to engage with the AI chatbot or connect with a live support agent. We’re not only focusing on the functionality but also on the aesthetics, ensuring you can customize the widget to fit your brand seamlessly. Post-launch, we’re looking to enhance the widget further with features like in-chat access to featured articles or your full knowledge base. 🖥️ Multiple Workspaces We’ve taken your feedback to heart and are developing a feature that allows you to manage multiple workspaces within a single account. Each workspace will be tailored with its unique branding and custom domain, all streamlined for an efficient help desk experience. We are planning to release these new features in Q1 2024. Stay tuned for the updates!

[Tracked with Parent Issue] Ticketing System MVP (Please comment/vote)

This task is currently tracked with a parent Issue. For more details and latest progress, please visit: https://simplebase.featurebase.app/submissions/654a486f7130c8704fd3cba0 Our ultimate direction is to build the necessary tools to run your Help Center efficiently. We plan to release a Ticketing System and Chat Widget for this purpose. But these two features are moonshot and the ultimate direction. Meanwhile, we are considering introducing an MVP version of a Ticketing System, allowing users to submit a feature request, report a bug, or send feedback directly through the Help Center pages. We don't plan to build a dashboard to manage received feedback. Instead, we think of sending them to your email address, delivering to a Webhook, sending a Slack channel, etc. This requires quite a big development resource. So, we ask you to comment and upvote this task if you think it's valuable to you. Please tell us what you think and help us build a better product.
